EU PAL-COPD officially kicked-off

The EU PAL-COPD project has officially kicked off to a great start! On January 30-31, 2024, the project consortium came together for a two-day meeting in Brussels, Belgium, hosted by the coordinating institution, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The aim of the meeting was to kickstart the collaboration towards improving palliative care for advanced COPD patients.

The event began with a warm welcome and introduction from project co-coordinators Luc Deliens and Koen Pardon, followed by introductions from all 13 partners. The agenda then focused on the nine work packages, where their leaders and members provided an overview of their work plans, objectives, and initial steps. The event was also joined by the Project Advisor Evi Monogioudi, who gave her presentation and shared valuable insights into the European Commission’s expectations towards the projects.

The meeting set the tone for the next five years of research and collaboration between 13 organisations across seven countries, all working towards the common goal of enhancing palliative and end-of-life care for advanced COPD patients. It was a successful start, with all partners aligned and eager to begin their mission.
