EU PAL-COPD presents insights from pilot study at the Belgian Symposium on Optimizing Communication in Healthcare

The EU PAL-COPD project will be represented at the Belgian Symposium on Optimizing Communication in Healthcare, taking place on 28 November 2025, where Marie Van de Walle (Ghent University) will present results from the project’s pilot study.

Her presentation, titled “Communicatie in palliatieve zorg bij COPD: bevindingen en aanbevelingen uit een Europese pilootstudie” (“Communication in palliative care for COPD: findings and recommendations from a European pilot study”), will focus on the crucial role of communication in the care of patients living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Drawing from the EU PAL-COPD pilot study, the presentation will outline key findings and recommendations on improving conversations between healthcare professionals, patients and caregivers about palliative care needs.

Presented in Dutch, this contribution underscores EU PAL-COPD’s commitment to improving patient-centred, compassionate and coordinated care for people with COPD across Europe.
