In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework, CSI research alongside faculty and allied health colleagues from across KCL, was ranked first in the UK. The CSI has been a WHO Collaborating Centre for Palliative Care and Rehabilitation since 2008.
Role within EU PAL-COPD
The KCL team lead the economic evaluation work package in EU PAL-COPD. We work with the clinical sites to collect data on participants’ health service use, receipt of unpaid care, and quality-of-life. We analyse these data to quantify if the intervention changes health care costs or patterns of service use, and to understand if the intervention represents a good use of scarce resources.
