Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) is a research university characterized by a humanist vision and fosters interdisciplinary, transversal, and intersectoral research. EU PAL-COPD is being implemented by the Ethics and Palliative Care Research Group within the Ethics and Sustainability Research Area at the Research Centre in Management and Economics (CEGE). The Ethics and Palliative Care Research Group intertwines three broad sub-areas: Ethics and Palliative Care Research; Health Policy, Management and Evaluation; and Comparative Effectiveness Research in Ethical Decision-making.
Role within EU PAL-COPD
We co-lead WP4 in which we have a major focus on ensuring that EU PAL-COPD is conducted with the highest ethical standards. This includes internal monitoring of research ethics procedures and approvals across the consortium throughout the duration of the project. We are also responsible for the implementation of the Stepped Wedge RCT in three clinical sites in Portugal. As an actively involved partner, we contribute to all other work packages.
