The End-of-Life Care Research Group and the Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases Research Unit are both part of the Department of Public Health and Primary Care of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Ghent University.
The EoLC group is an alliance group based at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Ghent University. We conduct high-quality scientific research in end-of-life care in Belgium and across Europe. Researchers from different scientific backgrounds work in a common research structure to facilitate interdisciplinary collaborative research
The Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases Research Unit has a longstanding history in conducting national and international research projects related to the epidemiology and primary and secondary prevention of non-communicable diseases.
We are responsible for work package 7, data analyses, including subgroup and country comparative analyses. We are also an RCT partner with two hospitals based in Ghent, and we play an important role in WP2 in the adaptation of the ICLEAR intervention.
